The wildlife are very playful in the bay - take a kayak out and join them !

 

Try fishing from the wharf with the kids. Warm up with a soak in our hot spa after your trip. An optional wine tour with tasting's at some of Marlborough's premium vineyards is also a great way to complete your stay.

Camper Vans & Tents

We often get approached by vans looking to use our facilities at a reduced rate. We are "camper friendly" but will have limited facilities and options here at busy times. There are no options locally for putting up your tent at the lodge or within the Anakiwa bay.

Foreign Students wwoofers & interns

We frequently host volunteers, international tourism interns or other students who are simply looking to improve their english and expand their travel experiences staying with a kiwi family. We welcome your application via email and will endeavor to fit you in to our family timetable here wherever possible.

 

Local Activities

* Just relax, enjoy the tranquil harbour view, the native bush and wonderful bird life

* The Queen Charlotte Track is only 5 minutes walk away, take a stroll in some amazing scenery

*Walk the track through native bush and inlets to Mistletoe Bay - 3.5 hrs, with boat transfer to Anakiwa

 

* Explore the safe beach-front, local wharfs and Outward Bound's track circuit

* Take the free kayaks for a paddle or hire some mountain bikes

* Curl up with a book or select one of 400+ DVD movies

* Cullensville, an old gold mining settlement is only 5 minutes drive, a trip into local history

 

* Havelock, the center of the mussel industry offers local sightseeing, museum and cafes/restaurants

* Take a drive up the Kenepuru Sound to visit some remote bays in the sounds

* Blenheim offers some 70+ vineyards for an interesting day wine tour

* Picton offers an aquarium, movie theatre and day trips, fishing, dolphin watching or simply cruising the sounds
